An ambient sound and artistic night illumination event to enjoy sound of silence, shadow of light at Kenninji, Kyoto’s oldest Zen temple. Enjoy the coolness of summer and experience Zen mindfulness. Zen walking through the corridor while listening to neuromusic that is scientifically proven to sooth your brain. A large-scale sea of clouds appears at Daioen, one of Japan’s leading dry landscape gardens, giving you the feeling of the cool summer breeze, and there is projection art on the huge Souryuzu, which symbolizes Kenninji Temple.

A sea of clouds appears at “Daioen”, one of Japan’s leading dry landscape gardens, where you can feel the coolness of a summer night. A large sea of clouds has appeared at Daiouen, one of Japan’s most famous dry landscape gardens. Digital Simulation Art with the Japanese Painting
Houto “Akira Wakita Dragon Rain”
Akira Wakita, a contemporary artist and professor at Keio University, co-creates a projection art work that visualizes the flow of energy using the latest fluid simulation technology, on Junsaku Koizumi’s “Dragons”, a symbol of Kenninji Temple. You can enjoy the experience of feeling the energy of the dragon, the guardian deity of Buddhism.

Art Exhibition & Sound Scape
Japanese Garden “Sound Art Night Walk”
A sound art night walk that takes you through the corridors of Japanese garden masterpieces “○△□ No Niwa”, “Choontei”, and “Daioen”. Between the gardens, many works of Junsaku Koizumi, the author of the “Souryuzu Twin Dragons” that symbolizes Kenninji Temple, will be exhibited. The exhibition includes his major works, the huge fusuma painting “Lotus Pond” and “Weeping Cherry Blossoms” of the temple of Nara Todaiji Temple, and many others.

Founded in 1202, Kenninji Temple is Kyoto’s oldest Zen temple and is known as a treasure trove of history and culture.
